Patagonia Profunda Express

DAY 01:

After a short visit of the capital of the region, the drive continues to the valley of Rio Simpson until you reach Puerto Chacabuco. From there you are going toenter the catamoran PATAGONIA EXPRESS which will take you through different canals and fjords after you get to: Puyuhuapi Lodge & Spa. » Welcome!

DAY 02: PUYUHUAPI LODGE & SPA / NATIONAL PARK QUEULAT / FJORD GLACIER

The Lodge, built in a landscape of incomparable beauty, offers outdoor thermal pools, footpaths for walks through the forest, the National Park Queulat with its Hanging Glacier, bicycle trips along the Carretera Austral. There are also boats an kayaks available for some trips on the waters in front of the Lodge. There is a wide range of excursions included in the program, that can be choosen by you. After these activities, the spa facilities with a large pool, whirlpool, Jacuzzis with thermal water and steam sauna, ensure that you can relax. You can also make use of the benefit of the thalasso therapy (treatments with seaweed), or a massage. Just to enjoy!

DAY 03: PUYUHUAPI - FJORDS AND CHANNELS - LAGUNA SAN RAFAEL - PUERTO CHACABUCO

An unforgettable experience is the journey through the fjords, on board the PATAGONIA EXPRESS catamaran, to get to know Laguna San Rafael. The navigation starts at 7 am and during your journy of about 6 hours, through the clear waters, the majesty of the mountains of the Andes wrapped in lush forests and the rays of light that is interwoven through the clouds, are an adventure for all senses. Sometimes it's even possible to see playful dolphins. Sailing along various channels, we finally reach Rio Tèmoanos and laguna San Rafael, home of the millenarian glacier at the end of the world. After a stay of about two hours, the catamaran starts his way back to the port of Chacabuco, where we will arrive around 22:30 hrs. and transfer you to the hotel in Puerto Chacabuco.

DAY 04: PUERTO CHACABUCO - CARRETERA AUSTRAL - LAGO GENERAL CARRERA - HACIENDA TRES LAGOS

After the breakfast you are leaving to continue your journey to Balmaceda where our personal is going to take you to your next location; Hacienda Tres Lagos. We will take you South, through a breathtaking landscape with a short stop at the viewpoint of Cerro Castillo where you can enjoy a spectacular panorama of the Valley Río Ibáñez. Here you will also enjoy a delicious lunch in a typical restaurant.
Arriving at the hotel, we will be awaiting you with a welcome drink and depending on the arrival time you will go for a boat ride on the Negro Lake.
During this trip you will get to know the scenic surroundings of the hotel, where the Hacienda Tres Lagos owns more than 1.500 h.
At night you will enjoy a dinner based on the best ingredients of the region, which will surely be a perfect end after a long, but exciting day.

DAY 05: EXPLORERS VALLEY AND MARBLE CAVE

Through the scenic Southern Highway you will travel North direction to visit the incomparable Marble Caves, which are a unique phenomenon in the world. During a boat ride over the crystal-clear emerald waters of the Lake General Carrera you will be able to admire stony formations which the effects of wind and water turned into admirable solid marble structures, creating different colours and characteristics over time - a unique and unforgettable spectacular!
Passing the cozy village of Puerto Tranquilo, you will enter Explorer´s Valley where you can discover a landscape of wide variety and extraordinary beauty. A breathtaking virgin flora along the road reveals ancient woodlands,emerald lakes, turbulent rivers and tremendous glaciers until you reach the highest peak of the Patagonia - the famous Monte San Valentín which marks the beginning of the enormous Northern Icefields.
Once back at the hotel, you will savor a delicious dinner.

DAY 06: TAMANGO NATIONAL RESERVE

South along the legendary Southern Highway, also known as Carretera Austral, you will again be able to enjoy countless natural beauties, such as the confluence of the river Baker with the river Nef. You will observe an incomparable spectacular, because this is the place where the biggest flowing river of Chile confronts the waters of the river Nef.
Shortly after the village Cochrane you will reach the National Reserve Tamango - a one-of-a-kind and especially picturesque spot.
After a delicious lunch in a lovely setting, you will start a walk through virgin forests, where you can admire with a little bit of luck the rare so called "Huemules" - beautiful deer which are symbol of Chile and protected because of danger of extinction.
As usual, at your arrival back to the Hacienda, dinner will be awaiting you, having the chance to taste typical products of the zone such as lamb, beef, pheasant, rabbit, hares, wild boar, salmon, etc.

DAY 07: HACIENDA TRES LAGOS - CARRETERA AUSTRAL - COYHAIQUE

After the breakfast you are going to leave Hacienda Tres Lagos. Once again you can feel see the different landscapes till you reach Balmacea again.
